Who We Are
MIVA Medical was founded to give patients across the Kansas City metro a better path to relief — one that doesn’t always require surgery. Dr. Silas Williams and Dr. Travis Brown are board-certified, fellowship-trained vascular and interventional radiologists who perform minimally invasive embolization procedures in our private, outpatient clinic. Most initial consultations are conducted by Maddie Fennessey, our Nurse Practitioner, who works closely with Dr. Williams and Dr. Brown to build your care plan — patients are also welcome to request a consultation directly with one of the physicians, depending on availability.
Please note: MIVA Medical does not perform diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, or CTA) in-house. Imaging is completed at an outside imaging center prior to your treatment, and we’re happy to help coordinate that referral.
*”Same-day” refers to the procedure itself. Your consultation and workup happen first, during a separate visit — once that’s complete, the procedure is performed in a single outpatient visit with no hospital stay.

Dr. Silas Williams
Board-certified vascular and interventional radiologist. Dr. Williams primarily performs uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) and gonadal vein embolization for pelvic congestion syndrome, and shares hemorrhoid (HAE), knee (GAE), and kyphoplasty procedures with Dr. Brown.
Dr. Travis Brown
Board-certified vascular and interventional radiologist. Dr. Brown primarily performs prostate artery embolization (PAE) and varicocele embolization, and shares hemorrhoid (HAE), knee (GAE), and kyphoplasty procedures with Dr. Williams.
Maddie Fennessey, NP
Maddie typically performs initial patient consultations at MIVA Medical, working closely with Dr. Williams and Dr. Brown to build your personalized care plan. Patients may also request a consultation directly with one of the physicians, depending on availability.
Erin Gilliland, RN
Erin is MIVA Medical’s nurse, supporting patients throughout their treatment and recovery with hands-on, attentive care.
